<p>When we talk about change and progress, we automatically think of new technology or modern practices. In some ways, this line of thinking is true. But to be a successful business leader, change and progress in the workplace constitutes a whole other meaning.</p>
<p>Change and progress must mean becoming more efficient and more effective in the workplace.</p>
<p>Unfortunately though, most companies are not taking their time and resources in finding the right changes for their company. Those who do take their time though would fail on the implementation process.</p>
<p>Here’s the thing: change must <em>always </em>be followed by progress.</p>
<p>You shouldn’t bother thinking of changes for your company if these aren’t aimed at promoting progress and success for you or your organization.</p>
<p>Whether you’re contemplating on finding and making some changes in your company or you already are, you have to keep in mind three things:</p>
<ol>
<li>Change      what needs to be changed. The key word there is “need” and not change. The      temptation to just do an overhaul of your whole business is very enticing      if you are having big problems right now. But this can actually do more      harm than good.  Concentrate on      finding what it is that you need to change and not what you want to      change.</li>
<li>Focus      on changes that last. Changing and keeping up with the world is good but      wouldn’t it be nicer and much more cost-effective if you find a business      process or strategy that would stand the test of time?</li>
<li>Find the most effective methods of implementation. I’m sure you’re confident that the changes you have identified and planned would improve your whole business. But these are all just theory- well, as of now. But as long as you find effective methodologies and strategies, you’ll do just fine.</li>

<p>But what I think is more important to discuss in a leadership training is not whether some people have innate leadership skills or not. What’s more important are the traits or qualities of a great leader. These traits aren’t something that you can just develop <em>during </em>the leadership training. It takes time to fully develop these skills but then again, knowing what these are would help you become a better leader.</p>
<p><strong>Competitive: </strong>Every business has competition. There are some who have more than others but the point is, you have competition. If a business leader is competitive, he will stop at nothing to make sure that his business stays afloat.  You need to realize that you can’t just sit idly by and wish for the best. A good leader is pro-active.</p>
<p><strong>Inspiring: </strong>Working in a professional and corporate environment can be very stressful. An employee can lose faith or motivation at work for several reasons. But if their leader is someone they could look up to, they become more interested in working and performing better. <strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Smart: </strong>The business is world is not for people who do not think. Every business is a risky business. There is no guarantee that a business will succeed unless the company’s leader knows effective business strategies and mindsets.</p>
<p><strong>Visionary: </strong>I’ve always believed that one of the easiest ways to success is when a person has a vision. A goal. As a leader, you should have a clear vision of what you want for your company’s future. The stronger and more clear-cut your vision is, the harder you’ll work to achieve that end goal.</p>

<p>Since the start of mankind, there’s always that one person who is tasked to be the leader. Even animals have pack leaders! And in today’s society, great leadership just might be the be all and end all for any business. So do you need leadership trainings? Yes. You need <em>great </em>leadership trainings.</p>
<p>When you hear or talk about <a href="http://www.executivejigsaw.com/how-can-we-help-you/leadership-development/" title="leadership training">leadership training</a> seminars, you will almost immediately think of the same things: a little time off your desk; a stranger delivering a talk about importance; perhaps some leadership exercises; and endless PowerPoint presentations.</p>

        Consulting the participants on what they would want the training to be is beneficial for you in more ways than one. Aside from them feeling valued and well taken care of, they would also be very interested in particiapating and really listening in the training because, well, they chose the topics!
    </p>
<p>
        Another key reason why you should talk to your team first before choosing what training to get is this is like reinforcing Step 1: the importance of knowing what the end-result should be. Once you consult with the participants, you know what their day-to-day problems are and it would be easier to determine what the most feasible action plan should be.
    </p>

        <strong>Step3: Find the Trainers/Training Company</strong>
    </p>
<p>
        In connection to getting real world results, as mentioned in Step 1, you should find trainers who have real-world experience.
    </p>
<p>
        You should look for a trainer or a company who has experts that have experience in the field- people who have actually gone out there and experience what really is happening in the real world.
    </p>
<p>
        But real world experience is not the end-all be-all, it is equally important to find someone whose forte is in your field or related to your field. Are you in the construction industry? Well, you wouldn&#8217;t want a political analyst to be giving you training, would you?
    </p>
